While selling technical products such as computer software,
hardware, tech devices or machinery, buyers need to be given
information about the technical features and functions of the
products.
Technical Sales Engineers do this by taking customers through
the technical aspects of the product.
Referred to as Systems Engineers or Pre-sales Support, they act
as the Sales Team’s technical encyclopedia during the sales
process. They have deep product knowledge and perform
technical presentations and conduct product demonstrations for
customers.
Some of the tasks that Technical Sales Engineers do include:
· Handle customer enquiries
· Represent company at trade shows and events
· Attend training sessions to stay updated on new product
features and upgrades
· Conduct technical demonstrations of products at customer site
· Travel to customer locations with Sales team to close sales deals
· Make comparative studies of technical features of products with
competition

Aptitude and Skills needed:
· Aptitude for technology
· Proven sales or marketing experience
